An educational visit to AUO SunPower in Melaka World Solar Valley, Alor Gajah, see http://wikimapia.org/#lat=2.3385264&lon=102.2111964&z=17&l=0&m=b&tag=4979. On Wednesday 28th December 2011 at 10am, a trip is being arranged for members only to this local establishment. Please note numbers will be limited and only children over seven years of age can attend. AUO SunPower manufactures solar photovoltaic panels, which produce electricity directly from sun light. The focus of the trip will be on renewable energy technology and how its role in future will only increase, as fossil fuels became more unpopular throughout the world for their pollution of the air we, and all creatures, breathe. For more details about AUO SunPower, see their website at http://www.auosunpower.com/ Renewable Energy is now being strongly promoted by the Malaysian Government, as it is seen as one of the means for Malaysia becoming a fully developed nation. From this trip, it is hoped that members can understand how renewable energy can be harnessed and used effectively. Register you interest for this trip with Stephanie Bacon at cooltek@streamyx.com or handphone 012-2175590, giving your membership number, number of people wishing to come and the ages of any children. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please meet at the main entrance of AUO Sunpower (N2o 20’ 19” and E102o 12’40”), at 10am promptly. |
