On 28th December 2011, a group of 26 members from Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johore visited the AUO SunPower Factory in the Melaka Solar Valley, Alor Gajah, Melaka

After a presentation on Renewable Energy in general, and Solar Electricity Generation in particular, the group were conducted on a factory 'window' tour where engineers explained the intricate processes required to produce the 'claimed' most efficient Photovoltaic' panels.

On 9th and 10th December, we attended the REVIVE GREEN FESTIVAL at Port Dickson

Volunteers arrived at Dataran Teluk Kemang at 7 am Fri 9th Dec and by 8.00am our booth was ready. The festival kicked off at 9am and later in the morning more volunteers turned up to help.

Overall, the programs were well participated. Crowds were largely made up of invited guests, participants and volunteers. Walk in visitors were not that many even though there were quite a lot of people on the beach. Our booth was quite well patronised and most of the visitors were attracted by our photo exhibits and our Naturalist magazines. We gave out many membership forms to those who showed interest.

The organisers must be commended for making an effort to put green lifestyle into practice. They provided drinking water from water refill stations, not PET drinking water bottles and food was served using plates, canteen style ,not styrofoam packets.Separate bins were also provided to collect recyclable and non recyclable garbage.The 3 R (reduce,reuse ,recycle) message was repeatedly emphasised over the PA system
