On Sunday 25th September 2011, a group of members visited Berembun Forest Reserve, Negeri Sembilan.
Berembun Forest Reserve in Negri Sembilan is a secondary low land forest, and stretches from the outskirts of Seremban through to Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan. The forest reserve was gazetted a protected area during the colonial times. Its importance is due to the water catchment area that supplies Seremban water needs.
The visit started with a visit to a Show House constructed from interlocking bricks on the way to Pantai, near the Veterinary Department. Then the group proceeded to the Berembun Forest Reserve. Activities included a walk through the forest reserve, bird watching/photography and a visit to Orang Asli communities. It was good to have so many members on the trip to Berembun. They had a marvellous time and got to make some new friends while at the same time learning about some interesting plants, fungi, insects, as well as interlocking bricks.
